Hi, I'm Katrin.

A documentary-inspired photographer based in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic, specializing in cinematic, emotional storytelling for weddings, couples, brands, and meaningful human moments.

Originally from Toronto, Canada, I moved to the Dominican Republic in 2019 and quickly fell in love with island life.

My approach to photography is rooted in storytelling. I’m less interested in perfect poses and more drawn to the in-between moments — the subtle glance, the movement of light, and the feeling of being fully present with the people you love. My goal is to create images that feel timeless, romantic, and emotionally honest.

Before photography, my background was in Documentary Media and Caribbean Studies. I hold a Master’s degree in Documentary Media from Toronto Metropolitan University, along with undergraduate studies in Caribbean Studies, History and Spanish from the University of Toronto.

That documentary background continues to influence my work today. It taught me to observe carefully, understand context, and tell stories with intention — capturing not just how something looked, but how it felt.

Whether I’m photographing an intimate wedding in Las Terrenas, a couple traveling through the Caribbean, or a brand looking for authentic visual storytelling, my focus is always the same: creating imagery that feels natural, cinematic, and deeply personal.

When I’m not behind the camera, you’ll usually find me dancing, exploring nature or chasing new creative projects.
